High school clothing

I know some of you have kids in high school or are otherwise familiar with kids that age at school.
Since it's been a *long* time since I was in high school, I figured I'd ask for some input as to what's acceptable wear at school. I'm considering having a character in high school wearing some very skimpy, tight shorts or pant (if the shorts aren't acceptable). Just not sure if that'd violate the dress code of most high schools.
Whatever the character winds up in, it's supposed to be skirting the edges of acceptable, and worn to make a point
It's for Morgan. I'm thinking about having him wear a tight top *and tight pants or shorts to make a point. Both tight as he can get away with so there's no missing the breasts or that he's definitely a boy.

A quick trip to google shows that "high school"+"dress code" yields many hits, including many protests over unreasonable (or downright crazy) dress codes. I think you could give Morgan's school pretty much any dress code that suits the story.

Date: 2011-09-29 09:45 am (UTC)But this reminds me of a tabletop rpg I'm playing in. It's GURPS Vorkosigan, and we're playing a Betan science team on Barrayar. My character is a hermaphrodite, which creates its own problems on a backward planet such as Barrayar (they don't like mutants, sex-crazed off-worlders, basically your strict conservative feudalish society). The problems start with problems deciding which sex would be fun (and proper) to appear in as the herm can pass of both as male and female, but they don't really stop there. Some members of our team would probably like to suggest something like chastity belts but being from Beta and not really knowing who should throw the first stone prevents that.
Anyway, it (the herm) sometimes does dress just like that, to throw off the Barrayarans. It doesn't go well all the time, but it's trying to make a point on Barrayar. (And sometimes getting stoned for that.)
