High school clothing

I know some of you have kids in high school or are otherwise familiar with kids that age at school.
Since it's been a *long* time since I was in high school, I figured I'd ask for some input as to what's acceptable wear at school. I'm considering having a character in high school wearing some very skimpy, tight shorts or pant (if the shorts aren't acceptable). Just not sure if that'd violate the dress code of most high schools.
Whatever the character winds up in, it's supposed to be skirting the edges of acceptable, and worn to make a point
It's for Morgan. I'm thinking about having him wear a tight top *and tight pants or shorts to make a point. Both tight as he can get away with so there's no missing the breasts or that he's definitely a boy.

Date: 2011-09-28 06:13 am (UTC)I recall hearing of a boy sent home from high school for wearing a kilt. (A teacher didn't expect this.) However, he appealed that and won.
A quick trip to google shows that "high school"+"dress code" yields many hits, including many protests over unreasonable (or downright crazy) dress codes. I think you could give Morgan's school pretty much any dress code that suits the story.
