Or at least think twice.

Comcast has started offering a "economy plan" for internet access. Costs half what my former service did.

But the thing they don't mention in the flyers is that it's only 768k, as opposed to the 6-8 meg the normal plan has.

I figured I can live with the slower rate. But I figured I should ask certain folks to not send my large files unless there's a reason.

YouSendIt won't help, because that'd still mean having to transfer the data. It's still gotta get thru the 768k pipe to get here.

In practice, it probably won't be an issue. But I figured it was best to send out a warning.

Comcast isn't offering that plan here. and i have to have cable tv that i don't even watch, in order to also get broadband.

They aren't offering it *yet*.

I went for the minimal "basic" to get a discount on my broadband. Channels 2-32 (with a few gaps).
