Phhht! And here I thought they'd finally invented a printer that prints objects. Order a can of beans online, download it to your computer, print it up on your 3D printer, open your new can of beans, cook the beans, enjoy the beans.
"Overclocked" by Cory Doctorow has a story in it about what might happen if just such a faber were invented. It's pretty interesting. It doesn't seem to make food or anything alive, but it makes products like electronics.
