On tonight's NCIS: New Orleans, one scene has our hero talking to his dad in prison. He notes that every year Mardi Gras happens six weeks before his dad's parole hearing.
Excuse me? Parole hearings are on a fixed date. Mardi Gras is tied to Lent, which is tied to Easter. And the date of Easter (and hence of Mardi Gras)
That date of Easter can be as early as March 22 and as late as April 25. That's A span of over a month.
Apparently he writers were under the impression that Mardi Gras was a *fixed* holiday. Oy
