fayanora because she'd boiught the memberships back in December and we were apparently among the lucky few who fell victim to a software screw up that didn't handle our memberships properly. So they had to go thru special steps to print our badges.
While I waited for the badges, I hit the PorSFiS table, where they had an amazing deal.
Seems a fan had died and asked that his wife make sure his collection of pulps got distributed among fans. So PorSFiS was selling them for a dollar each. I used up a big chunk of my reserve funds picking up a bunch of 1950s and earlier Astoundings.
Some may be dupes, I won't know for sure until I can dig my collection out of storage. But even if there are dupes, I'm sure I can ebay the dupes.
After getting the badge, I hit a panel and then hit the dealers room. Picked up a couple of books and way too many CDs. But given that it's been a year since I got any...
Di some more panels, then invited Fay to dinner in the restaurant. We got the "cheap" con specials.
We hit a few more panels, but I burned out early and left before my bus imposed 10pm deadline. Got lucky and made the connections with almost not wait time.
Oh yeah, Kathy gave me her old laptop. Needs a new battery, but I just checked and there's a vendor who has them for $35+$7 shipping. But that'll have to wait until next month.
