ETA: I have been informed that the artist knows gridlore and the character is *supposed* to look that much like him.

Whether the character is lying to the questioner is left for folks at a higher paygrade than mine. :-)

The artist is actually using Doug as his model; we've known him for 20+ years.

I *did* think it looked remarkably like Doug. But since there wasn't any "cameo by a friend" type note, I figured it was just coincidence.

ETA: looking at the questions again, I daresay there area few folks who won't *believe* the answers to the first two questions.
