Get a federal law passed amending the "Defense of Marriage act".

Any state that invokes DOMA to refuse to recognize marriages from another state is required to not recognize *divorces* from that state either. Just word it a bit less blatantly.

You could likely get the Talibornagains to support it since a lot of them aren't too fond of divorce either (unless they've had one).

But wouldn't *that* put the fox among the chickens! <eg>
