Weird dice

Dear LJ Genie,

At a con a while back, I picked up a couple of odd dice. 16 sided.

I didn't notice until later, but they are not numbered 1-16. Instead, they have 6 faces with 1, 4 faces with 2, 2 faces with 4, and one face each with 8, 16, T and ©

Anybody have any idea what they were originally intended for?
