Micro$ith? Micro$ux?
Date: 2007-01-31 06:11 pm (UTC)I plan on keeping XP as long as we can manage. If/when it gets to the point where it's starting to get problematic, maybe I'll give Linux another chance (I tried putting it on a 2nd drive on the 98 box, and it quickly became more of a headache than it was worth, even when I disconnected the drive with 98 on it.)

CNET is running a poll where 35% of the respondents are saying "No way!" to installing Vista. The online version of the newsletter is at http://nl.com.com/view_online_newsletter.jsp?list_id=e497&tag=nl.e497.

Date: 2007-01-31 07:05 pm (UTC)The new desktop I put together a few months back is running Win2k. I'm still tracking down a couple of glitches, but it's mostly running fine.
I'd suggest an upgrade to Win2k on the 98 box.
And what with 2k now being the oldest "supported" MS OS, I really need to get around to setting up the Linux box I've been meaning to set up since forever.

That way, you'd be getting the $$ instead of MS. Though we'd have to work out a price, since no matter who's getting the money I can't really afford to pay full price for it :-(. Time to take this off-board, I think.
