I *do* note that the Harry Benjamin Standards now include provisions for TS kids who are pre or early-post puberty.
Seems there are drugs that suppress the hormones that cause the production of testosterone or estrogen. And unlike anti-androgens, they don't have the risk of making it impossible to resume normal production when they are withdrawn.
So puberty can be "put on hold" until the kid reaches 16 (or whatever the proper age is) and can make the medical decision themselves.
Add that to the fact that there are *some* high schools where a guy *can* show up in a skirt and not get more than odd looks, and we've got some hope.
