Odd thought

Something that occurred to me years back.

Cold iron is supposed top be protection from magic & magfical critters of some sorts.

So when I found out that iron is the end point of all nuclear reactions. The element that you *can't* get energy from by fission or fusion I just had to wonder....

Makes me wonder about the anti-magic properties of depleted uranium.

Well, the isotope in depleted uranium can still release energy if you do the right things to it. It's just not *easy*.

Fe56 is the peak (or trough) of the curve of binding energy. So anything else has energy that could be gotten out if you tried hard enough.


ps. I saw M1A2 and thought "They hsve APFSDS ammo for the Garand now?"
