Stupidity

Attention [law firm handling a property sale]:

The USMail won't commit to less than 3 days for "Priority Mail". Yet you sent those papers to me *first class*, on Monday the 6th, for a closing date of the 14th.

They arrived Friday the 10th. Too late for me to get them notarized that day. So I had to do it today, the 13th.. And spend almost $20 to FedEx them to you so they'll arrive before the closing date.

Do *try* to use your heads occasionally. Just because First class mail "often" gets there in a day or two doesn't mean that you can *count* on it.

No love.

Me.

I'm going to say this *once*.

I wasn't on the jury so I can't tell if their decision was legally correct or not. But they found him innocent. Deal. But do so *privately*. It's been bad enough with all the coverage of the trial for months. I don't want to listen to people gritching about the decision now that it's over.

They found him not guilty. So drop it.

(Edited to change "innocent" to "not guilty", thanks janet)

musings

A lot of people fall into the trap of thinking "Oh, they aren't a threat to me and mine". And they also support groups because even though they disagree with a lot of what the groups stands for and what it says, they can use the group to get something they need or want.

Now, that latter isn't necessarily bad. It's often necessary. But you need to remember that you are only working with these people to accomplish a purpose. If you forget that, then you'll start excusing things they are doing wrong. And failing to object when you can object without compromising your goals.

Worse yet, you may be *so* intent on your goals that you fail to realize when what you are getting or trying to accomplish isn't worth what you are tacitly lending support to.

And shortly after that, you may discover that once they've accomplished *their* primary goals, you and yours were on their list of secondary goals. And have now been elevated to primary target status.

I suspect this is the case with a lot of people supporting the Republicans. And more who aren't for the Religious Right, but are against "liberals" or "intellectuals"
