That's weird. I'll have to ask Russ (who handles the FreeCycle stuff for our household) whether he's observed the same thing.
I can't imagine posting "bunch of books" with no titles! How is anyone going to know whether or not they want them?
Hmmm... well, maybe if I was culling my Regency shelves. I do know that there are people who are absolutely unpicky about romances; they don't care what it is or who it's by as long as it's a romance novel.
I asked Russ. He says that mostly what he sees is "box of [genre] books," and points out that generally these are people who want to get rid of the box as a unit, not let the recipients cherry-pick. That was an aspect I hadn't thought about.
Oh, I can understand the "take them all" bit. But I'm not going to bother if they can't be bothered to let me know *something* beyond "bunch of books".
Then again, I'm always having to respond to folks "Want battery charger" posts by pointing out to them (privately) that there are several kinds of rechargeable batteries and they need the right kind of charger or they can ruin the batteries or the charger.
I've also steered folks looking for MS Office towards Open Office as a possible alternative.
