What is it with some companies?

First, I order online, using the "guest" ordering. The second to the last screen has a box MARKED OPTIONAL for "account creation info".

Thing is, it won't let you continue without supplying that info.

Today try to check on the order and can't login to that account (yes, you have to log in to track your order). So I go to call the tool free number.

The phone menu has "For technical support Press 1 or (long bit about website)"
"For ordering or order tracking (*very* long spiel about online ordering) Press 2"
"For everything else press 3.

Believe it or not, you have to press 2 *after* it tells you "press 2" and before it gets to "press 3".!!!!

When I get thru, the support person tells me that the reason I couldn't log in was that my "username" (which THEIR WEB CODE generated from the email address I supplied) contained an illegal character.

Say *what*?! *They* created that entry. Not me!

I think I need to find an address to write to someone and ask what kind of *idiots* they have setting this stuff up.
