Blood sugar blues

A couple days ago, My morning blood sugar was *way* up. It'd dropped when I checked a couple hours after breakfast, but it was still higher than what's been normal.

It's been slowly dropping since, but it's still higher than was normal for the past couple of months.

Wish I knew why it suddenly spiked like that. Here I've been going along ok for months and then it spikes like this.

And, of course, I've got an appointment with my doctor to renew my prescriptions tomorrow afternoon.

I've heard that sometimes stress can cause blood sugars to rise, but I'm not sure how reliable that is.

It's a good question for the doc, though. I assume you would have mentioned if you binged on doughnuts or something, right?

Maybe it's the stress of the MD appointment coming up? I just don't know, sorry! :(

I "binged" a bit on Chinese food. And on the higher protien stuff at that (fried shrimp, Mandarin chicken).

It's back to a more reasonable number today, tough still higher than I like to see for the "fasting" level.

I'll just keep an eye on it. And I'll make a note to check and see if the levels jump the next time I order Chinese.
