I actually had something a bit like this in one of my early Masks stories. A superhero TV show from the early Sixties starring a retired hero would have retired villains as special guests. The "bad guys" were actually willing participants, grateful to relive past "glories" in a safe venue. I didn't include it, but they probably enjoyed interacting with fans of the show, which was aimed at kids. Hamming it up and having the time of their lives. "Hah! I can still put together a death ray at the drop of a hat. Wanna see me?"
