That was among the books I got for wintergifts, and I'm enjoying it greatly. I may look for a one-volume ombnibus of the Lensman books, and maybe an Oz omnimbus. When I was a kid, a friend of my mother's had the entire collection of Oz books from when she was a kid. I remember reading them eagerly. I would have loved to have them all there in one book. And I would hav loved to read them to my son when he was little. And I wish I had them to escape into right now. Is Donald Trump a Panki?
Most of the Lensman books are in the public domain now. I think The Vortex Blaster (aka Masters of the Vortex) is the only one that isn't.
While not an omnibus, there are some good reprints of the main series, complete with the "classic" illustrations. They've only done the first 2 Skylark books, alas.
An Oz omnibus would be *huge* (or have very small print).
been decades since I last re-read any of those. This Dejah Thoris was named after the original by her father. And wound up marrying Zebulon? Carter. Might have been Zebediah.
When going for "famous most beautiful women," I tend to list Helen of Troy, Sylvia of Verona, and Dejah Thoris, just to see who is paying attention - and sufficiently nerdy. (Of course my real list consists of one name: "my wife," but she's less famous.)
