A couple months ago, I broke my microwave. Well, to be exact, I broke one of the prongs on the door that latch it closed and do something with the sensors that confirm the door is closed.

Finally had the money to see about getting it fixed. Parts would be $45. Service fee, would be $79. And the fee to pick it up and return it would be $50. So $174 total. A new one would only run $200,, so I declined.

Found one the same size and power at Target for $139. And for $9.99 extra, I could get it delivered today. And that's *still cheaper than the repair. *sigh*

So in an hour or two,, I'll have a new microwave.

Gonna have to haul it upstairs by myself, but I can manage. won't be fun, but I can manage.

Well at least you'll have a microwave again. I honestly don't know how you've managed that long without one.

Now I'm remembering the time the Mythbusters accidentally built a microwave refrigerator.

Seriously. They used the guts of several microwave ovens around something they wanted to heat, only it got cooler. They never figured out what was going on. (They probably didn't have the manetrons close enough to the target, and it cooled sitting on the concrete floor, but it's still funny.)
