I'm trying to put togerher a fake "shopping list". Not sure what I'll use it for, maybe a game prop, maybe a prop at Orycon.

I've got the first two items, I'd love suggestions for other made up tech from SF movies and TV. I'd prefer parts or "modules" to entire devices.

Anyway:

2. interocitor (from "This Island Earth")

Not sure if Iwant stuff like dilithium crystals.

You *do* recall that unless you are the person the Lens was made for, it'll kill you? And that they tend to "evaporate" if taken off said person. (though that last wasn't thought thru, as there are numerous instances of Lens being transported in the books)

And now I'm recalling how I freaked out several fen at Orycon years back.

This was before the current M&M colors. I bought several bags of the special Easter M&Ms and saved the blue ones. I dumped them into a pill bottle and then at Orycon I shake a few out onto my hand and offer folks Reality Pills.

A lot of folks were "huh?" but you could tell who'd read that classic 60s SF novel by the way they turned pale.

Kim Kinnison removed his several times. I think the link between lens and wearer allows the lens to exist as long as the wearer is alive, regardless of location.
