Suddenly reralized that I have a character that's going to be in the hospital for a bit. Among other sundry injuries, *both* arms are broken. And from what I recall from when had muy arm broken, the initial cast will cover the elbow.

Anybody know where they stick the IV in such casers?

When my mother was in the hospital, her veins were so fragile they couldn't get into the veins in her arms. They ended up running a line into her subclavian vein, under her collarbone.

In your character's case, they might try a line in the back of the hand.

Back of the hand is commonly used. That's where they stick my Mother when they can't get the inside of either elbow.

Alas, with some forearm breaks, they need to immobilize the wrist. Mostly to prevent rotation. Which means the back of the hand is under the cast as well. (I had that sort of cast both times I broke my left arm)

Consensus seems to be subclavian.
