Well, I've got dinner in the crockpot. Got the appetizers in various places awaiting the right time for prepping them.

fayanora will be over late this afternoon (or early this evening).

I've scaled things *way* back from what we did for Thanksgiving. Just pot roast with potatoes, onuions, carrots and some mushrooms (i'll be adding the mushrooms in the last few hours of cooking). Got some olives and "cheesy bread" for the munchies before the main course. And a huge pumpkin pie for desert.

One slight miscalculation. Since the crockpot has to sit on the stove, I can't do mulled cider on oit. Oh well, we can do that some other night.

This is why I have a faux marble slab on rubber feet. ;-)

My bread maker usually sits on it, at its usual place on the counter to the left of the sink.

At any rate, our family get-together is tomorrow. Sitting at home, alone tonight. Just glad I seem to have finally kicked this bug which has kept me in so much this month. Feeling pretty good, actually.

Crockpot sits on the stove when in use because there *isn't* any free counter (or table!) space.

Ah! Sorry; should have realized that. (You can tell I don't do a lot of hosting.)

My counter tops are a polymer composite, and I was warned about putting hot things on it, so they go on the stove or the fake marble on rubber feet.

Any way, I assume you had a good diner. :-)
