*Bad* Passport requirement change.

The State Department is prosing to require people "some" people (for an unknown value of some) to fill out a new form to get a passport.

The deadline for comments is midnight Eastern time *today*

I'll post my comments later. So far I've hit things like date of birth for parents and siblings. Which I don't know closer than month/year. (Het it's been 40 years since I lived with my brother or my mother).

An insane amount of stuff about birth. And other info nobody is going to have. And they claim it'll only take 45 minutes to fill out? More like *months* And thousands of dollars to a private investigator.

ETA: Arrgh. The deadline was yesterday. :-(

Um, it says that the deadline would be the 25th -- which was YESTERDAY.

Argh. I only saw it in someone's retweet on their LJ. Which I saw today. Grrr.

And with my life, forgetting that it's Tuesday rather than Monday is an occupational hazard.

Which sucks. I would've added my comments. And I'm a nice middle-aged white male of two parents who were married for their whole lives, etc., etc., a perfectly Normal American. And I'd have SERIOUS issues filling that thing out. What, I'm supposed to know the address I lived at in Vermilion, South Dakota? When I was *2*? The only reason I know the NAME of the town is that my parents used to mention it.

Oh yeah. I'm fairly sure where mom was living when I was born (and it's over a thousand miles from where I was born).

We lived there until I started 4th grade. And then we moved to the place mom lived until she died.

But the place I lived after I got thrown out? I can't locate it within a mile. The foster home after that I was only able to locate because the family had an odd name and lived on a farm outside a *very* small town.

The two places after that I can locate, but I'd have to go to the actual location to find the addresses.

after that I've managed to nail down addresses for my own reasons.

Jobs? My first real job was as a field hand at a berry farm that's been a housing development for 30 years. The one after that was at a restaurant that was part of a chain that no longer exists (I think). The one after that, the restaurant changed names after it burned down.

Then we have a company that (oddly enough) used to be where the back of the store these apartments are built next to is. I accidentally stumbled across their new location (about a mile away) a year or so back.

There's another restaraunt I worked at that's gone too.
