I request that my friends in California and other places that get *real* earthwquakes refrain from laughing.

A bit ago the local news reported an earthquake here in Portland. A 2.1 quake.

We don't have earthquakes often, here, but they save up and make the result spectacular. The New Madrid fault is only a couple hundred miles west of where I live.

Portland is different that way. Aparently there were three or four over a span of a few hours. The "big" one was centered under Ladd's Addition.

Hey, that's California. This is Portland.

I recall feeling the "Spring Break Quake" back in 92 or 93. First damaging quake in the area in many decades.

I felt the chair "sway" a bit. And given how far the epicenter for that one was, I doubt it was any stronger where I was than that 2.1 was in areas near it.
