I'm watching an episode of Men Into Space. It's an ancient SF TV show I recall watching as a kid. 50 year old SF.

I lucked into a collection of all the episodes as somewhat watchable video files.

The episode I'm watching is Ep 13 - First woman on the moon. And it is *painful* watching the unthinking stereotypes.

No, but it's still kinda awful. It's less than 250 meg per episode, so if you want to look, I'm sure we can find a way to get it over to you.

Have you seen the Man Conquers Space site? It explores the presumption that the Colliers coverage (which inspired the Disney specials) actually started the space race in the early Fifties. They're trying to turn this hobby into a feature film, and may just have a good shot at doing so. See their stuff at:

That's the sort of thing I've suggested to folks as ways to have fun with alternate settings in Traveller.

Have a newly contacted planet that has followed that sort of path.

Refitting local ships with higher TL drives, or trying to "ferry" now obsolete ships to collectors on another world are both great ways to land PCs in "novel" situations.
