Been accepted to the Oregon Health Plan, and the coverage starts the 25th. And if I need to see a doctor before that there's some way it can be billed.

Now I just need to see what I can do to find a decent Primary Care Physician. As in one who listens, and won't be freaked out by my kinks, mental problems or trans issues.

Oh, excellent!!

(I lucked out, 7 1/2 years ago, at a public health clinic; was devastated when my doctor left a bit over a year ago, but got a good replacement. And just when I was getting used to her (and vice versa :) ), she left this June. So... new doc is actually a resident, only there one day a week, but I'm impressed. He thought I should get my vitamin D levels checked, and *phoned me* - not someone else on staff, but the doc himself - with the results - up my intake from 600IU/day to 1000IU/day, and for the next 8 weeks, one 50,000IU dose a week, because my levels were so low that regular supplements weren't going to do it. (They think Vitamin D may have a... um. word? anyway, with MS, and since CFS is sorta MS lite, well... also, I'm one level down from osteoporosis, despite supplements etc. Inability to do any sort of exercise may play a part in that.))

So anyway, check out your local public health clinic; if it doesn't work out, there's the vote-with-your-feet option, though finding a doc that takes Medicaid, outside the public health clinic system, may be problematic.

I could ask Dr. Jamie about trans and kink friendly primary care doctors, she might know some or a way to find some.

BTW, Dr. Jamie is a trans and kink friendly therapist, if OHP covers therapy. http://www.mytherapistsaid.com
