Date: 2009-09-05 04:03 am (UTC)I believe one is in Hebrews; I found it while looking for something else and didn't think to write down chapter and verse. The author was irritated at his followers getting into heated arguments over what a phrase or even individual word "really" meant, and told them they were missing the point of the lesson by arguing over minutia. He further wrote "Do not trust the written or spoken word, but think for yourselves."
The other was told to me by a minister's daughter I used to correspond with. I wrote down the chapter and verse of that, but can't find the note. Sorry.
