Hmmm.. seems to me there are Third and Fifth Amendment issues here. You could make the case that you are being forced to provide support for government forces by having this software in your home.
There is also the issue that you cannot to be compelled to be a witness against yourself. Knowingly buying this software with your computer makes you be, in effect, a witness to whatever you do without your consent.

Date: 2002-03-17 09:57 pm (UTC)Check the EFF website. This law would require *hardware* (or at least firmware) to prevent unauthorized copying. Note that "unauthorized" rather than "illegal".
It'd be illegal to manufacture or sell computers without these "safeguards".
