a plethora of muggles
Jun. 28th, 2009 04:55 pmI saw that the cache nearest me (GC1HRG1 Son of Earl) had been found by someone yesterday. They hadn't logged it til today.
So I took another look. Found it. And then had to manage to get the log signed and the cache back in place without attracting attention.
Fortunately I had my camera as an excuse for hanging around. Got a lot more pics of the tree and a real good shot of the first oak gall I'd spotted.
The tree...

The first oak gall I saw (not a bad shot given that it was 15 feet off the ground...)

That beaver gnawed tree from a previous post:

(note to any cachers reading this. If you find this, you are around 50 feet from the cache...)

Date: 2009-06-29 01:40 pm (UTC)That tree I was telling you about the other day when you mentioned the size of the oak (at the top of your post here), I took a good look at Saturday. Without getting a tape measure, I'd say my memory of its size was inflated slightly and the massive walnut at my folks' is roughly the same girth as the oak.
Funny how memory plays tricks on one like that.
