(I hate Windows, I had this entry mostly written and it crashed while I was typing.)
Lin and Kermit went out last night for a belated birthday dinner for Kermit. But the fancy restaurant was not good. So since they were over in this part of town (Lin had a class, and also wanted to pick up the portable brailler I'd picked up on ebay) they asked me out to dinner with them.
I'd done my nails earlier in the afternoon, as I had to because I'm trying to live up to me "don't leave home without polish" decision. I'd used the Revelon Rosy 160 this time. It's a bit less conspicuous.
I did a bit of digging thru the closet looking for something that'd look nice but that I could get away with in boy mode. I've got a lot of "plausible deniability" tops after mentioning to Lin (a few months back) that I'd like to wear girl stuff in boy mode sometimes. So she found a fair bit at thrift stores and the like.
I found one top that went well with my nails, but it was a bit more casual and summery than I wanted to wear tonight. There was also a sweater that matched nicely. I set that aside since it might get cold outside.
I settled on a nice bluish-grey top that was sort of like a short-sleeved turtleneck, except the collar only rolls over a bit. It went well with my faded jeans. I also wore a heavy "chain" (hard to explain) necklace made of rainbow anodized niobium.
The dinner was nice. It was an Italian place we've been to before. Very nice and *real* Italian. A bit spendy, but the food justifies it.
When I got home I decided to put on a bra. A nice blue satin one. I hadn't worth it out to dinner because I wasn't sure if it'd show or not, even if I didn't have my forms in.
I'm getting more confident about my nails. I *know* some people have to have seen them (like the waiter when I pointed out what I wanted on the menu. And nobody has said anything.
I'm still nervous, but I expect that'll diminish except in "high risk" situations.
