I intended to mention this the other day but I forgot.

After I'd been wearing my skirt awhile I realized that I really needed to get some stuff from the store. But I didn't feel up to shaving my arms and face. So I was too chicken to wear the skirt to the store. But I wanted to do *something.

So I dug out my nail polish (Wet'n Wild Frosted Fuchsia #426) and did my nails. I've been wearing since then.

Nobody at the store said anything In fact the one comment I got was when I visited Gary and Anita this evening. Anita said I should swap with Jessica (her daughter). Seems Jessica was wearing a dark purple polish.

Jessica caught her name being mentioned and bounced in from the other room going "What?"

So I walked over and said "Your mom thinks we should swap polishes." And waved one of my hands at her. She disagreed.

The polish has gotten a bit ragged especially the last few hours. So I'll probably remove it.

But I'm going to apply a different color tomorrow. Probably the "Rosy" Revelon that Lin gave me a while back. It's less likely to be noticed. But I *do* intend to try to keep wearing some sort of nail color from now on unless there's a reason I *can't*.

This is going to be a bit nervous making for a while. But I think I need to. And I need to start looking into electrolysis or laser hair removal. I really would love to never have to shave again, and have one less thing to do to go from Leonard to Brooke.

And I *really* need to get more makeup. And practice. At least when we had that demo all those months back, I got it right the first time.

On other matters, I'm nervously waiting for folks to get a chance to read the stories I posted ad give me some feedback. The silence is a bit intimidating. Ok, it's a *lot* intimidating. But I keep reminding myself that I posted a *big* chunk text and folks will need time to read it.

Woot! Go you! Seriously, that's great to hear, about the nail polish thing. It all starts with the little things, though, don't it? And we all could use a little self-confidence.

Always make sure your nails are clean and filed smooth before you start. Apply both a base coat and a top coat because it will make the polish last longer.

I applaud you on making the decision to keep your nails done. :-)

Well, I've done other stuff. But I think this was the longest stretch I've gone without dressing since I started.

And if anything, October is a good month to start doing this sort of thing. Plausible deniability and all that. :-)

You're welcome. Wish I could have been of more assistance, but I do think the base coat and the top coat are very important. Oh, and let them dry *thoroughly* before you try to do anything.

Well, after a few messes early one I learned about letting things dry.

I only used one coat the other day because I was in a hurry. And we all know what hurrying gets you.

I actually use a good clear base coat, then two or three coats of colored polish, followed by a chip-proof clear top coat. And it sure doesn't pay to hurry, that's for sure.

I did see the stories you posted, but I'm a long way off from being able to focus on anything that long for a while - let alone anything with erotically charged content. Besides, I'm sure there's a Black Hole of Quality for smut, too. ;-)
