*Please help us get this information into the hands of as many people as possible by forwarding it to your entire email list of family and friends.*

Oregon referendum petitions must have your support!

*Urgent: Two homosexual rights bills will become law without your support now*

Dear [my name],

*Concerned Oregonians now have less than seven weeks to collect the 55,179 valid signatures required on each petition to refer each of two homosexual rights laws passed by the Legislature to the November 2008 ballot.* 75,000 signatures are needed for each petition drive to ensure sufficient “valid” signatures. The Oregonian <http://www.oregonlive.com/oregonian/stories/index.ssf?/base/news/1187061942116670.xml?=7> reported this week that Chief petitioner Janice Bentson estimates that only 5,000 to 10,000 signatures have arrived at her Salem home.

*There are TWO Referendum Petitions, one for placing _“Domestic Partnerships”_ (HB 2007) on the November, 2008 General Election Ballot, and the other to accomplish the same for the granting of special rights and protections to homosexuals, lesbians, bisexuals, transgenders, and the gender confused (SB2).* HB 2007 grants all the benefits of marriage in Oregon Law to homosexuals living with a same-sex _“partner”_ circumventing the will of the people, the Oregon Constitution and traditional and legal standards. SB2 will force you by law to accept as normal and moral what has for millennia been considered aberrant and immoral behavior. You will not even be able to express your religious beliefs in this area of morality without vulnerability of civil suit. This law provides special rights, privileges, and protections to homosexuals, lesbians, bisexuals, transgender individuals, and those who have _“gender identity” _issues.

*If enough signatures are not collected by Labor Day, 2007, the two bills described above will become law on January 1, 2008. However, if enough signatures are collected the referendum will appear on the November 4th, 2008 General Election ballot and you will have the opportunity to vote to make them null and void. *

Copies of both Bills/Acts must be present at the table with the petition signature pages, or, if being carried by a circulator, present with the circulator.

Since this is an _“Issue”_ and not a candidate or partisan matter, *Churches are fully within the law to talk openly about the bills, the referendums, the issues surrounding the legislation, and encouraging their members/attendees to sign the petitions.*
