You aren't alone. Isaac Asimov hit calculus and bounced too.
I taught myself some based on a few reference back in high school. But I don't recall anything more than the basic principles any more.
Because of that I spent a lot of effort trying to write a program to do some simple calculus the "hard way" years back.
I've got a calc text I got for free at Powells in a box of discards (basically, stuff folks brought to sell, but Powell's didn't want). Have to get back to it one of these days.
