Insane op-ed

A former diplomat writes an op-ed piece on eliminating private gun ownership in the US.
Not only does his plan violate the Second Amendment, the searches and sweeps he *explicitly* sets forth as part of it violate most of the rest of the Bill of Rights.
And he doesn't see anything *wrong* with that!!!!!
How the HELL did someone like that get to be a diplomat?
On top of that, his plan wouldn't work anyway. Aside from all the legal problems, there's the simple fact that *no* government has ever suceeded in doing this sort of thing to an unwilling population.
