I'll be spending a lot of time at Orycon 27 this weekend.

Friday afternoon/evening, probably much of Saturday and parts of Sunday.

I'll be commuting this year, but I will drag along one of my laptops, since there's supposed to be free wi-fi in the public areas.

So I may manage a post or two.

There should be more free wi-fi. We didn't find any in Almeria. Bluerose wandered around disconsolately with handheld coputing device, trying to log into password-protected systems. He coudln't really complain as he's password-protected his home system after someone grabbed lots of bandwidth :).

I was offline for a whole week except for a every expensive visit to email via my mobile card to pick up email from travelling daughter. But it was worth it.

Well, the hotel says it's got free wi-fi in the public areas, and since it's one that normally has businessmen (it's downtown) that's kinda necessary.

the con had the hotel we'd been using for years sold out from under us. And it's not going to *be* a hotel anymore. So we had to make do.

Worst case, I've got the cables to use my cell phone as a modem. Which costs the same as a voice call. Ie free on weekends and later at night.

since I don't have a room, I'm simplifying some. I still plan on doing some "gender-queer" stuff. But this year, it'll be more trying to look like a girl trying to look like a guy. :-)
