Murphy loves me....

Or so I gather from his sense of timing.
I had *finally* gotten around to laundry. Well, the stuff for the machine, anyway. (I did the hand washing Monday).
I was a bit chilly so I'd put on this nice *purple* sort of a sweatshirt thing that Lin's mom had gotten me a while back (well, she figured that if it was too big for Lin, which it was, it'd fit me. It's *so* nice having folks who haunt thrift shops and have some idea of your tastes :-)
I'd also grabbed a plaid wool skirt to go with it (they don't go together too badly).
so, I'm sitting there starting to sort things by color and the fire alarm for the building goes off. I figured it was a false alarm, as usual. I was tempted to just go out, but I chickened pout and dropped the skirt and pulled on my jeans (suspenders are useful at times :)
If I hadn't needed a shave I might have decided differently.
But I swear Murphy had to be watching because I hadn't had that skirt on for 2 minutes when the alarm went off.
I've started a load of laundry, and changed back into the skirt until it's time to toss it in the dryer (and start another load).
The waistband of the skirt was just tight enough to remind me that I need to work on holding in my gut instead of just letting everything hang out. It's uncomfortable, but it'll help. So will swimming when I start up again.
Now that the holidays are over (and that I'm feeling better than I was) I'm paying more attention to how much I eat and how often. That'll help with the weight too.
Note to self: Buy that scale!
