good news, bad news

Good news: We got me an air conditioner.

Bad News: It's going to be sitting right where it is until the apartment maintenance guy can get around to installing it... <sigh>

Well, I sleep in the living room (futon couch) anf that's where the computers are (mostly, I plan to move som=e into the bedroom later) And the kitchen and living room are just different parts of an L shaped area anyway.

This air conditioner should in theory be ok. It's a 12,000 BTU/hr unit and rated for a rather large area than it's actually going to be cooling.

No windows in the kitchen. It'son an inside wall. All the windows are on the same (north) wall. A double window in the living room and a double in the bedroom. You have to go thru the kitchen to get to the bathroom or the bedroom from the living room.

I have a fan blowing "in" in the living room and one (actually 1 1/2) in the bedroom. And when it gets *really* hot another goes in the bedroom door to help the air "turn the corner".
