that distance in "miles" is a pretty formidable number - greater than the circumference of the Earth... but what exactly are the units of measurement here?
Well, the numbered posts seem to be about a mile apart. I suppose if someone had a measuring tape you could measure the buildings and stuff and see if they seem to be sized in some sort of common unit (not as easy as it sounds, try it with your house and other structures sometime)
