Well, the isotope in depleted uranium can still release energy if you do the right things to it. It's just not *easy*.

Fe56 is the peak (or trough) of the curve of binding energy. So anything else has energy that could be gotten out if you tried hard enough.


ps. I saw M1A2 and thought "They hsve APFSDS ammo for the Garand now?"
