food & things

fayanora and I did our monthly shopping (well more like our monthly big shopping shopping trip).
This time we hit the Oriental market on Thursday and WinCo on Friday. I loaned Fay some money because she didn't get her SS until Friday.
Fay gets a *lot* of stuff at the Oriental markets. Me, not so much. Main thing I wanted was Nong Shim Neo Guri ramen. Seems that Winco & Albertsons quit carrying them a few months back. So I got a couple of 4-paks of those and some beam thread. Then I wandered the aisles looking for anything else interesting.
Saw a couple kinds of noodles I may want to try sometime (arrowroot and purple yam). Didn't see the tumeric ones that used to have (I liked the bright color). Garbbed a couple packages of Japanese Kit-Kats too.
I looked over various other snacks and decided to get a bag of Karamucho Hot Chili with Seaweed potato chips. They were a bit more than regular chips ((($5) but I figured I'd try them.
They were good. Not *that* hot, and a bit of a sweet undertaste. Fay tried a couple (she's been having trouble with spicy food) and found them ok, and probably not *too* spicy.
The next day going to Winco, Fay wanted to stop and grab a bite at this *tiny* Japanese sandwich shop. I noticed they had the same chips and asked about the price. $7. Nope!
That got me curious and I eventually did some online searches. Yeesh. Just about everyplace that listed them had them for $9 or $10. and that was in packs of 10 or more!
Guess I'll be making another trip to Hong Phat...
