Five spice uses?

Due to getting off at the wrong stop, I wound up passing by our favorite Chinese Market (Hong Phat) on the way to get together with Fay for her birthady (a meal at Changs, and then hitting Winco for groceries).

Since she was running late, I stopped and bought a few things. Only stuff that Winco doesn't carry, for obvious reasons. While looking for thew Japanese Kit-Kats, I stumbled across Something I'd heard about, but never tried. Five Spice powder.

Any suggestions as to things to do with it (I'll go looking for recipes later, but I figured I'd ask first)

Like what things can I add it too to improve themn? Or what simple things can I make using it?

Busy day

Since today was fay's birthday, we decided to hit Chang's Mongolian Grill. They have free meal on your birthday thing.

Back in Feb, we weren't sure they were open so we didn't go for mine. But we were sure they were open now.

And since they're across the parking lot from Winco, we were going to make our monthly Winco run after the birthday lunch.

Started out with a few mishaps. The bus Fay was waiting for didn't show, so she had to wait another half hour. Meanwhile, I'd gotten Halsey and Glisan confused and thus went well past the proper stop.

When I realized that, I rode even farther and caught the 20, since that would take me past Hong Phat (a *large* Chinese market). There are only a few things I buy there, as several of them were a bad idea since I'd be going to Winco later and they sell those too.

I did get some bean thread, and some five spice (see other post) as well as several flavors of Japanese Kit-Kats.A couple were flavors I hadn't seen before. a chocolate-orange, and strawberry.

Almost got on the wrong bus after getting the stuff at Hong Phat. It's on 82nd, and I almost too the 82nd bus. But I remembered in time and took the 20 out to 122nd.

Fay was already at Chang's when I got there, but hadn't been waiting long. We each took two runs thru the line and were stuffed. Then it was off to Winco.

I didn't get everything I wanted there, but I got most of it. A few things I decided to skip. Fay decided that with what she was carrying her groceries in, it'd be easier to take the same bus I was, and then transfer to the 12th when we got to the transit center.

Had an uncomfortable wait for my bus (for some reason they took out the shelter and bench for it).

Got home and had to make several trips to get everything up to my apartment. Had to rest between trips.

Finally got all the stuff that needed to go in the fridge/freezer put away Had a bite to eat and took my pills/injections and crashed hard for three plus hours.

Got up a bit ago and put the rest away. Had another bite and took the meds I'd forgotten to take earlier.
