Food and other stuff

fayanora and I finally got the the food pantry. We tried last Saturday, but turned out they were closed for Memorial Day weekend. We were going to try again Thursday (the other day of the week they are open) but Fay couldn't get any sleep that night.

One reason I asked her along is that it's a pain getting my "little old lady" type grocery cart back to the bus when it's loaded. Also, even though it's a quite a ways from where she lives, she's been having trouble with the one local to her and we figured it couldn't hurt to see if she could use this one.

Worked out fine. They didn't have any problem with her going there, and we both got a *lot* of stuff. I'd have gotten more of some things, but didn't think I'd be able to haul it all home.

Had a bit of an issue with the buss heading home as they had two people in mobility scooters on already, and there wasn't really any room for us.

One interesting bit. At the exit one of the workers asked if I'd like any flowers and pointed at a couple of chairs with bundles of cut flowers. I started to say "No" then I spotted some small potted plants. Took a closer look and realized they had a couple of miniature pitcher plants.

So I am now the proud owner of a pitcher plant. Hopefully I can keep it alive.
