The prologue is "how they got in this mess" and involves person who is the classic "everyone is against me, these things that happen are never my fault" who (as we learn) has a bad case of Dunning Kruger.
So he wants the power to make wishes, and manages to get the materials and successfully cast the spell. The being summoned tries to tell him why this is a *really* bad idea, but he just thinks that it is trying to trick him.
Not only are the results catastrophic, but the author does a wonderful job of showing how and *why* things blow up on him.
And then the story starts...
