"Essential" vs "non-essential"
Mar. 21st, 2020 03:09 pmOn Monday Fay and I went to the county courthouse to be witnesses for an acquaintance, Someone else wew knew (and dislike) was trying to get a restraining order against them, claing there were threats. Said person has done this several times before to other people in the building, but we hadn't heard about those cases when they were happening.
Anyway, We all had to show up, only to have the case postponed, partly because of the COVID precautions. Seems silly as it cost the pne person a day of work, and the other p[arty wanted a postponement anyway. *sigh*
We were able to grab some sandwiches afterwards, and after talking a bit we went home.
It was odd seiing the streets so deserted and having less than a dozen folks on the bus during rush hour. Since it was on the way and I had a craving, I stoped at Voodoo Donuts. They were open, but all the tables were gone (part of the "take-out only" order).
When I go home I found a notice on the building door to the effect of "please don't have non-essential visitors".
Fay and I texted back and forth and decided our weekly TV night was "essential" (mostly to our sanity.
It's kinda funny, as except for me going to the fridge or bathroom, or Fay going back to my door to grab food or stuff she'd brought we pretty much maintain "social distancing" during TV night anyway!
Id *did* decide to start the night (last night BTW) with some "appropriate" music before the queued up programs...
