Weird dream

Just before I woke up,the usual disconnected scenes came up with this.

Viewpoint is a guy walking down the street with someone else. Never see him, just see things from his point of view. Maybe they are cops, maybe they are EMTs.

They see a kid, no older than 4, maybe younger. He's acting odd. Not stumbling, but as he walks and stands still his right foot keeps going up and down. Not hard enough to be stomping, but up several inches and down again. It's strange enough to catch their attention

They decide that something is very wrong and next scene is in hospital or ER. Kid's been cleaned up some. You can see bruising on his face.

And he's still walking, trying to stay away from people. Somebody slides a mattress pad across the floor to the corner he's trying to hide in.

At this point I become aware (via the viewpoint character that the kid has been talking the whole time. Quietly, and non-stop. Not sentences, just run together words and phrases.

I don't recall them clearly, but one bit was something like "...mommy fall down baby fal down mommy in dirt baby in dirt..."

And slowly it sinks in that he's talking to himself about his family getting killed....

There was a bit after that with doctors talking about some sort of injections the kid had. And something about drug trials (ie the kid was getting non-approved drugs and probably as part of an off the books trial)

Then I woke up.

Weird. Very weird. And I just wish I could redreate that sense of creeping horror as what the kid is mumbling starts to make horrifying semse...
