Arggghhh...
Oct. 25th, 2011 04:48 pmThis afternoon I paused a video in the middle. Later I went back to it and suddenly remembered that the media server *doesn't* blank the screen for a paused video.
A bit of messing around confirmed that the TV was dead. It's not too surprising, I got it second hand from a friend when *she* upgraded at least 10 years ago.
I had to go over to Fay's and grab the spare TV (we'd gotten several off freecycle a year or so back. Partly so she could have a TV, and psartly so I'd have a spare for when my set died.
Only problem is that the dead set was a 27 or 29 inch set and the replacement was only a 13 inch. At least that made getting it home from Fay's fairly easy.
I had to ask a guy from another apartment to help me haul the dead set to the trash.
Oh well, at least when I get the next installment of my back SSI in December I'll be able to afford a new TV. But looking at this *tiny* screen from across the room sucks.
