Okay, I'm only checking my blood glucose levels once a day or so (my doctor had to be argued with to even *get* a glucometer, he never did tell me how often to test).
I try to check fasting levels when I get up. It saves strips (and in a couple more months I'll be out of the backlog I built up by getting a box of strips every month whether I needed one or not back when I had coverage)
Anyway, today it was my typical higher than it should be but not screamingly bad (171)
I was bad. I had a bit of a craving and I ate a very sugary "dessert" thingie I happened to have. An hour and a half to two hours later I checked by BG just to see how bad the spike was.
I was only up to 212.
Given that I've had other stuff that wasn't near as sugary give me 240 8 hours later, I'm mightily confused.
