Way too many of these bring nothing to mind. Others (the food ones) need pictures.
- The space between two buildings containing a footpath: Alley? (though actually, that's something that has a "roadway" between. Don't know of one for a footpath)
- A knitted item of clothing worn over a shirt, without buttons: Sweater
- The act of not going to something that you're supposed to go to: skipping
- Playground game in which someone is "it" and has to touch someone else who then becomes "it.": tag
- Playground truce term when you want a break from the above games: ???
- Playground term you say when you want to claim something: dibs
- Slip-on shoes worn for school sports in the days before trainers: no such item slip ons were rare when I was a kid and were *never* allowed for sports or PE (and I only know what trainers are because I read a lot of stuff set in the UK)
- Small round bread: ???
- Sweet course that follows the main course: dessert
- Scone: pronounced to rhyme with "gone" or with "moan": moan
- Generic term for a bird: bird
- Round food stuff made with batter on a griddle, which is brown on the outside: pancakes
- A delicacy that you feel is particularly local to you: don't know of any

- Someone who's soft and easily feels the cold: don't know of any except "wimp", which is far too generic
