Amazon.com has gone crazy
Mar. 28th, 2008 07:44 pmThey are going to make it impossible to buy any "Publish On Demand" books that aren't printed by the POD company that they own.

This is an incredibly stupid move. It's also an attempt to monopolize the business.
Among other things lots of folks *can't* make the switch. The time and money involved in getting their book converted from the file format used by their current publisher to that used by Amazons' POD unit isn't something they can afford.
Add in the fact that Amazon gets to set the pricing and you've killed more works that are currently being sold "at cost".
They just lost my business for *anything*. And I'm going to tell them so.
