So, earlier this evening my Mvix media server went screwy. Probably a power supply issue, but who can say.
Wonder of wonders, they responded quickly to my email. Not so wonderful is that the response was an RMA. It'll be 15 *working* days to fix it.
I also decided to do a bit of digging on another hardware item.
A while back a friend gave m\e a nice cordless phone/answering machine. The headset jack one the handset was busted and since she always uses a headset...
Since it was one of the expandable units, I considered getting an "extension" and charger as that'd let me put the headset with the broken jack in the bathroom.
So I finally got around to looking it up on the web. I found the phone and quickly found the part number for the extension & charger. And almost swallowed my teeth. $200!!!!
And all the sites had it about that price, even an "AT&T factory outlet" site.
But I kept digging. And 2.3rds of the way down the page of google results, I hit another AT&T site. Which had it for $70.
You will pardon me while I consider strangling a few companies...
